Cottage
Accommodation, Camping and Meals
To really get a feel for Australia, there's nothing quite like
a night in the bush. Experience vivid sunsets, stars that seem close
enough to touch, and silence that is broken only by the crackle
of a campfire.
Tyrconnell offers a choice of 3 heritage style cottages,
or camping. Tyrconnell is a refuge for orphaned and injured native
wildlife. For this reason, guests with dogs are asked to keep them
on a leash at all times. Pets are not permitted in the new cottages.

The 3 cottages are privately situated around the 110 acre
property. For a truly authentic outback experience, the restored
mine manager's cottage is rich in charm and character. This
breezy timber and iron house has 3 bedrooms (1 queen room,
1 double room and 1 twin room), bathroom, lounge, verandah
and kitchen (with gas cook top and small fridge). |
"Inside the Managers House"
Cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided, or you can
opt for a sumptuous dinner with mine owners, Andy and Cate, in their
cottage. The 2 new cottages each have central lounge/kitchen and
two bedrooms (1 queen room, 1 twin room) with ensuite bathrooms.
"Inside the Newer Cottages"
Wide front and back verandahs, a bar fridge and
overhead fans are features of the new cottages, one of which offers
outstanding views of the surrounding countryside and the setting
sun. Gas cook top, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are
provided. All cottages are solar powered which restricts the use
of appliances such as hairdryers.

Camping

The campground is located near Tyrconnell Creek (seasonal only)
and is grassed and tiered. Spacious timber and iron ablution blocks
offer hot showers and flush toilets (6 of each), and a central BBQ
shelter is available for use. The site is unpowered.
A conscious effort is made to keep guest numbers to a minimum
in the campground to avoid crowding. Tents, mattresses, swags and
other camping equipment are available for hire.
Meals
Tyrconnell is self-catering only. There is no catering provided or purchase of refreshments available onsite.
Each cabin offers kitchen facilities with a 2 burner gas top, barbecue on the deck, crockery, cutlery, pans and pots.
